Episode 5

ABOUT EPISODE 5

This was the first episode that introduced other characters to the series, namely Tash (as played by Katherine Painter). The idea was to bring in two supporting characters who each had different points of view to Jake and Alana, especially when it comes to online relationships. That concept will be looked into far more deeply in future episodes. I also experimented with different camera angles and more comedy like timing here, to see what would work and what wouldn’t.

TRIVIA

* Episode 5 was filmed after Episode 6, though released first to bridge the gap between two Alana specific episodes.

* An iPhone 5 was used to film Jake’s video message to Alana.

* The post credits sequence was added to show Alana’s reaction to Jake’s message, but also emphasise the point that her feelings for him were beginning to grow.
